Inventory Analyzer
The Inventory Analyzer is a powerful built-in tool that provides deep insights into your current merchandise stock. Instead of just showing you a simple list of items, the analyzer automatically calculates the financial weight of your physical inventory, helping you make smarter decisions about reordering and capital allocation.
Key Insights Provided
When you open the Inventory Analyzer, it immediately calculates a global summary of your entire merch spread:
- Total Stock Value: The total amount of money you paid to manufacture or purchase the items you currently have on hand. This tells you exactly how much capital is tied up in physical boxes.
- Total Potential Profit: The total amount of pure profit you stand to make once every single item in your current inventory is sold at its set retail price.
- Total Units: A simple count of every physical item you have in stock across all categories.
- Return on Investment (ROI): A percentage metric showing your expected return. For example, a 150% ROI means if you spend $100 on merch, you will generate $150 in pure profit (walking away with $250 total). A 100% ROI means you are exactly doubling your money (spending $100 to make $100 in profit). A 0% ROI means you are breaking even.
Breakdown by Category and Size
Below the high-level financial metrics, the analyzer provides a distribution breakdown:
- Category Distribution: A quick view of how your total units are distributed across categories (e.g., how many Shirts vs. Vinyls vs. Accessories).
- Size Distribution: A aggregated count of all apparel sizes currently in stock (e.g., 120 Mediums, 80 Larges). This is incredibly useful for spotting overall sizing trends and knowing what sizes you need to order more of globally.
Item-Level Analysis
The bottom half of the analyzer breaks down your inventory design by design.
For every specific item and size variation (e.g., "Tour Tee - Large"), the analyzer shows you:
- Current Quantity
- Unit Cost vs Retail Price
- Stock Value: How much capital is tied up in this specific size.
- Potential Profit: How much profit this specific size will generate.
This line-by-line breakdown allows you to instantly spot which items are your most valuable assets, and which slow-moving items are tying up your capital.
Quick Updates
The Inventory Analyzer isn't just for looking at data. If you spot a discrepancy or need to make a quick adjustment, simply tap on any item row. This will instantly slide up the Update Quantity sheet, allowing you to seamlessly adjust the stock level, unit cost, or retail price without having to navigate back to the main Merch Manager.
